About the presenter: Dr Larry McClellan is an esteemed historian and a founding faculty member of Governors State University. His consulting, research and writing focus on historic highways, the Underground Railroad in Illinois, and on African American and regional history south of Chicago. His research began in the 1970s as he studied historic Black communities in the south suburbs. His findings broaden our understanding of the Underground Railroad and our state's role in it.
