Tracking the Fall Migration with Red Hill Birding In-Person
You're invited to join an expert birder for a fall migration bird walk! We'll look for a variety of migrant and resident birds, learn about migration and the birds you see, and discuss all your burning bird-related questions. We have a good chance of spotting resident woodland birds such as the downy. hairy, and red-bellied woodpecker, blue jay, and red-tailed hawk, and birds migrating through such as the golden-crowned kinglet, brown creeper, white-throated sparrow, sandhill crane, and birds of prey. The group will meet promptly at 9:00 a.m. at the Gilgare Lane parking lot of Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve (1275 Gilgare Ln, Lake Forest). Bring binoculars or a spotting scope if you have them! Registration required and space is limited.
