Dr. Shane Larson on The Secret Lives of Stars Online

We are used to thinking of the stars as everlasting, a comfortable constant filling our nighttime musings. But stars, like people, live dynamic and exciting lives. Stars are born from the turbulent mixing of gases in vast molecular clouds, experience constant swelling and shrinking in middle age, and die sometimes violent deaths, leaving behind a fascinating array of skeletal remnants in the stellar graveyard. With astrophysicist Dr. Shane Larson, we’ll visit some stars at various points in their evolution.

Registration is required. You can also opt to receive a text message reminder. A recording of the program will be available on the library's YouTube channel within a few days and will be emailed to all registrants.
