Nonfiction Group: Chop, Fry, Watch, Learn In-Person
Judy Levin will lead a book discussion of Chop, Fry, Watch, Learn: Fu Pei-Mei and the Making of Modern Chinese Food by Michelle T. King. A well-researched biography of the woman the New York Times called “the Julia Child of Chinese cooking,” Chop, Fry, Watch, Learn weaves together personal and social histories to illuminate the life and work of Fu Pei-mei (1931-2004). Fu was a chef and an author who taught countless women how to cook, and her soft diplomacy skills helped bolster Taiwan’s global image.
All are welcome. This program will take place in the Hammond Room on the mezzanine level of the library. Register as soon as possible so that the library can locate a copy of the book for you.
